An amylin analog is a man-made form of the hormone amylin, normally found in the body. Amylin analogs are used to treat type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults. This medicine works with insulin to control blood sugar.

Pramlintide is an amylin analog. It works by slowing down food digestion. This prevents blood sugar from rising as quickly after you eat. It may also help you feel full faster.
