I would just like to know if there are certain side effects that occur if you take it when you have anxiety, thanks
Fluoxetine may in fact help the anxiety as it is prescribed for depression and anxiety disorders. That being said, one of the common side effects is anxiety for SOME people. So unfortunately it is a trial and error sort of ordeal. What works for one may not for another. To read more about fluoxetine go to:
This site includes possible side effects though keep in mind not everyone experiences these. Fluoxetine has been around along time and has a good track record. If it does not work for you, there are many other similar medications which are worth a try.
I just came off fluoxetine few weeks back,i was on it for anxiety and depression,it helped my anxiety alot and had little side effects, some tiredness at the start and loss of appetite but it went away once my body got used to it.
I came off it due to needing an extra mood stabilizer for my depression, but all in all i found the prozac worked for anxiety.Thats my experience, again what Laurie said is true, what suits one might not suit another and the same with the side effects.
Give it a try see how it goes, give it some time to work and if you experience side effects contact doc, hope it works out for you!
