I am a 51 yr old Fem, in over all good health. but out of no where, while having dinner, I had an episode, with all the symptoms of a mini stroke. an MRI & Ct Scan ruled out bleeding or blockage! so after blood work, my Doctor said results came back with, acute Shingles! but I have no symptoms of Shingles what so ever, none!! so now he said he is pretty sure I had a bell palsy episode, & put me on 400mg of Acyclovir. I will start taking it today. I am baffled?! only Meds im on are, .5 mg Xanax & 150mg Wellbutrin SR! Has anyone had a similar experience??
Hello marteenez, & welcome to the site. First IU am not a doctor, but am more suspicious of your wellburtrin than anything else since they ruled out a mini stroke or TIA with a MRI & CT scan. I am giving you a link below to read about this med, as it can cause a seizure, & maybe that is what happened to you. Just a thought...
A friend of mine has Bells palsy from having a fan blowing on her in the summer in her room. It blew on her face in a hot summer night. The doctor said you can even get it with a car window down too, when you are sweating. Her doctor did not know at the time it was bells palsy and she did not get treatment. Her eyes were crying all the time and her face got more deformed because of that.
Treatment needs to be done immediately. That is the key.
