Hey rgeee. I am also in the prior addiction issues ride with you and typically will have a handful of insomnia hell multi time a month. The only one that works for me and I preach it out to everyone I know is Lunesta/Eszopiclone. This provides a quick fall asleep, will stay soundly asleep all night, and wake up easy with no hangover grogginess etc.
Since we used to subscribe to the More, Now, Again mentality/lifestyle, I can confidently tell you that doubling up will 1. May Cause blacked out talking gibberish and or remembered activity (not like driving your car asleep or sending your boss emails about the dreams you are currently in, as other meds have been known to do) your sleep cycle. And 2. You will miss work the next day or at least have no recollection of turning off all alarms, not waking up to noises like where are you phone calls, until you allow your body to sleep the hours it needs to metabolize the drug out.
I find it impossible to push through the falling asleep phase in order to then enter the altered / high phase again like it’s been said an other drugs. I was only able to stay all the way awake after taking it once and it was due to sheer terror and anxiety of a family member in surgery after an accident-so that gives you some
Perspective hopefully.
It’s an older medication so I think my co pay is 10$ for #30 tabs.
Hope that helped-I’m off to
