I am being told about the disontinued product. I am a patient who takes it every day, 240 mg and am worried? I am not going to get my perscription this month/ anywhere in the country? Did they stop making it? Is it already out of the pharmacies? How much longer will it be available if so? I take the instant yellow ones because I can function, pretty much pain free all the time. I cannot recieve them anymore? Any help is awesome, I cant seem to find any dates and useful info. that I can use today, not next month or two years ago, like I've been seeing so far. thank you
The oc being replaced is the extended release version. Since you take the instant release you will not be affected. People were crushing them making them stronger and instant released then snorting or injecting them. When pharmacies reorder the er oxys, they will get the ones that can't be abused.
Christine was right on the money in her answer, please believe her. You have nothing to be concerned about. The company, Purdue, did not mess with your little yellow pill because its an immediate release medication. They only altered the extended release medication of the 40, 60 & 80 mg. of Oxycontin HCL. So quite your worrying & you really don't need any information on the people who are abusing it and how. It won't serve you any purpose because it doesn't pertain to your medication.
Relax & I hope between the two of us, we eased your mind completely.
