this pill is red and round it has no numbers or letters on it but the label says ferrous sulfate

Unfortunately it is not possible to identify a pill without an imprint. All Rx and OTC drugs in the US are required by the FDA to have an imprint, it is what enables us to identify them, Ferrous Sulfate does not come under this category.
However there is a Red Round Ferrous Sulfate Tablet - 325 MG (65 MG Fe Equivalent)
so I would guess that is what your tablet could be.
