Cyanocobalamin Injection contains cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) in a clear, red, sterile, nonpyrogenic, aqueous solution in a potency of 1000 mcg/mL (cobalt: 40 mcg/mL) for intramuscular use. Each mL of solution also contains 10 mg benzyl alcohol as a preservative and sodium chloride for isotonicity; pH has been adjusted between 4.5 and 7.0 with sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid.
Maintaining normal vitamin B12 blood levels in certain patients with pernicious anemia. It is also used to treat or prevent low blood levels of vitamin B12 that may be caused by other conditions.
Cyanocobalamin (B12) is a form of vitamin B12. It works by replacing vitamin B12 in the body.
