Why are you running out before time for your next script? Just curious. If you need more meds to make it through the month, you need to converse with your doctor. I feel for you. My doctor writes them for 30 days only. Guess she doesn't think that some months have 31 days. And then there are the days it's due, and they want 72 hour notice, but it's due on Saturday or Sunday. This happened to me & my husband, & we had a talk with the doctor about it because the nurses were responsible for getting the scripts done. After talking with the doc, we've never had a problem. I call ahead of time & say" our scripts are due on Saturday (or Sunday) can't wait til Monday". They always have them ready on Thurs. or Fri. now. Don't know if I've helped, but good luck to you. Mary
Hey elleitburn,
Just thought I would mention a couple of medications that are non narcotic and therefore the prescrips are written with refills so you wouldn't run into the 30 day problem. The medicine is Cymbalta or Lyrica. Have you heard of them? They are for diabetic neuropathy pain, as well as other things. You might find that one of these could really help you. Not sure what other scripts you take ,etc, but might be worth asking the doctor about on your next visit.
I have taken Cymbalta and it really helped with the nerve pain. Just some thoughts I wanted to share,
Laurie

It was due friday and I call in on tuesday. The doc has not responed. I will talk to doc on my next appt. This has happen 4 times in a year.
Nest time it is due on Fri., Sat. or Sun., call them on wednesday & say it's due onFri or Sat. whatever, I'll bet they get it ready for you by Friday.
You have to really keep after them! It took us 6 months to finally get it rigtht. They really don't want youg oing thru withdrawals.
with the telephone calls, requests etc it is a good idea to remind the doctor and if you find that this is going to be repeated give the office nurse a call and remind her, I am fortunate but I have even had the nurse tell me if you see that it is going to fall on a Saturday or Sunday give me a reminder call and I will be sure that it is taken care of, best wishes,
We have to call for our scripts for Methadone every month. We were told it was OUR responsibility, that they were too busy to keep up with it so I guess it is a reminder call.
