I've been taking 40mg Oxycontin every 12 hours for 1 1/2 years and Vicodin for chronic pain and had a negative urinalysis from last week. How is that possible and how often does that happen? I have had two accurate results in the last few months from the same place as the false-negative. This makes me and the Dr. look bad and the only thing that I can think of is my results were switched with someone else or they (Lab) didn't do it and said they did.
I've worked at a place that did UA's for their business. We would do UA's for Inmates as well as people who are doing PIA programs and job UA's. It can happen often if the test strip is old (expired) and it can just happen. In 98% of the cases a false-negative is the same as a positive result when it comes to what the court wants and what the employer wants. So basically a False-Negative is equal to a positive. Let me know if this helps or if I can give you anymore information. Good Luck!
