If I take the dosage over a 24 hour period will that lesson side effects? I wasnt sick the day I took it, but on the third day after then for the rest of the week. I felt great pain wise, but was so sick that my dr had me stop taking it. Any suggestions on how to take it decrease the pain and decrease the side effects?
If anyone can help, this Sacosam type guy , and this wonderful "Drakesmom lady" we sure would appreciate it . I got P.M.R. and it really sucks , my Dr. wants me to try that crap but I made the mistake of studying the drug first. All the amswers I got from my studies said NO... NO... NO... DON'T DOIT... DON'T DOIT... DON'T DOIT!! So guess what folks , I'm not taking methotrexate for at least the next 30 yrs. Hell I just spent some BIG BUCKS on a bunch of Viagra, Cialis, and some other ... Stuff (;->) ! ! and i'm not gonna let some miserable 57 yr. old drug, kill me before I get a chance to play with it... [whoops... I mean the big "V", the big "C" , and the uuuhh , "STUFF"!
I heard from a reasonably reliable source that... well a short while ago, I asked you people about this crap because i'd really heard some bad stuff about metho. The 2 people who answered couldn't say enough GOOD STUFF about METHOTREXATE , and that punched my suspicious button , so I checked on them. They work for/with BIG-PHARMA , so they're as full of shit as a Christmas Turkey.
Drakesmom, needs your help. Don't worry about me , i've been around & I don't make mistakes like that very often. But if you truthfully are for real, and you know of a way to take this stuff withot tearing her guts out, post her, dammit she needs to know. SACOSAM
P.S. I well remember a while back someone else tried it and it did to them, exactly what it did to this lady, and there were 3 or 4 posts about it , of all bad experiences. "Stay on the good foot people"!
Hi Drakesmom, I'm sorry to hear about the side effects you've been suffering with Methotrexate. I can sympathise, and have been on Methotrexate now for about 18 months, relatively symptom free. I don't know if this will help you, but I've been using anti-nausea accupressure bands, which are used to combat seasickness but is also useful in combatting drug induced nausea. I was started off on Methotrexate one day a week (Monday), and advised to take 5 mg folic acid on Friday, this was to alleviate some of the side effects of the Methotrexate, as Methotrexate works by blocking off absorption of folic acid, this is then replaced, but must be taken several days apart from the Methotrexate. I advised my rheumatologist that I was getting extremely fatigued, he suggested that I increase my folic acid and that I take 5 mg folic acid on Thursday and 5 mg again on Friday, this helped a lot. Hope you will soon be feeling better and will soon be symptom free. Best wishes for your health. bacterial
