INR (International normalized ratio) is used to monitor oral anticoagulation therapy i.e. warfarin.
The effectiveness of Heparin (unfractionized heparin) is monitored by derivatives of thee activated partial thromboplastin time (e.g. kaolin-cephalin clotting time or KCCT).
