I have noticed that everytime I go back to work I start to get this horrible pain on the right side of my stomach right underneath my ribs. This pain is unbearable... Also I am thinking it is cysts because I have been on my period for 4 months straight. The Obgyn I went to told me I was too young for cysts and that because of my inplantona birth control my periods should be irregular but I think something different is wrong
go to another dr for an second opinion or demand an ultra sound, if you are having pains in the areas where you cysts could be like a side pain, then most likely, well in my case it was cysts, and also cysts that burst, thats the most painfull, because the fluid from the cysts swoosh back and forth. my dr says that there is no worry about infections when it burst unlest there is blood in the fluid when it bursts, thats called a cholcolate cyst. hope this helped
Your pain on the right side up under the ribs sounds like gallbladder pain to me. Do you have a gallbladder? The liver is in that area too. Gallbladder pain usually is worse after eating but can hurt all the time. Gallbladder would not account for the bleeding but that could be a separate issue related to the Implanon. Go see your PCP and have him check the area around your gallbladder to see if it is tender to palpation. I was very young when I started getting gallbladder pain. They never could find stones though so I went years in pain even though my Dr then said he just KNEW I had some kind of gallbladder disease. Finally, after 20 years of pain, when I was in my 40's I had a bad flare up and they performed a HIDA scan which is a special scan of the gallbladder and they found out I didnt have stones but my gallbladder didnt even function at all. When the Dr took it out he later told me he could tell I had gallbladder disease for some time because the tissue was beginning to die and it was causing me to be very sick. So dont wait too long to have it checked out. If you feel something is wrong keep bugging Drs and get second and third or more opinions until someone finds out what is wrong. Usually if you feel something is not right you are correct!! Ovarian cyst pain is genrally lower down by the pelvis. Medical people speak of the abdomen in 4 quadrants or quads. If you divide your belly into 4ths at your belly button(one line horizontal and one vertical crossing at the belly button) you get 4 quadrants. It sounds like your pain is in the upper right quadrant but ovarian cyst pain is usually felt in either right or left lower quadrants.
