I just started taking it for lower back pain from arthritis, ruptured discs, spinal mis- alignment. I have tried physical therapy, chriropractor, accupuncture, massage therapy, ultrasound laser treatments, osteopathic manipulation. I am usually into more homeopathic, herbal rememdies but none of these things have worked. I'm worried about damage to my kindneys and liver being on such a high dose of NSAID.
Hi, the most common long term side effects of taking NSAID's (including nabumetone) are gastrointestinal, renal and hepatic insufficiency, as you have highlighted in your question. There is also a risk of hypertension, cardiovascular deterioration and anemia. However, that said, these problems may not affect you. They are only possibilities. But if you are aware of potential problems you can watch out for them and take steps to increase/support your health in these areas. Also it is usually after taking NSAID's for years before these issues can become a problem. How long have you been taking the nabumetone?
