is using percocets or other pain killers daily or frequently dangerous to your help even if your prescribed?
Long term use of Percocets even when prescribed is addicting. You will have withdrawls if you stop taking this drug abruptly. Long term users can build a tolerance to this medication thus requiring higher doses to get the optimum pain relief. While Percocet taken as prescribed is beneficial for pain relief it does have its drawbacks due to its addictive nature.
Hope this helps,
I would ask why you are taking the Percocets in the first place? Are you having acute pain or are you having chrontic pain?
The answer lies there in. Do you have an addictive personality is another question? If you have chrontic pain & are expecting to be on pain meds for a long time or like me forever, you could develop a problem, but your pain management doctor would watch for this. There are lots of other meds out there for different knids of pain. So the answer would be, Why are you taking them in the first place?
I have been on pain killers for chronic pain for 8 years I have been taking percocet for about 14 months. The effect it has on me is memory. I forget what I am doing at times, usually when I go from one room into another I forget what I went for. I also have trouble at times remembering facts and names. If I had it to do all over again I would still do what I did because of my pain level without help.
