My wife is pregnant by eight months and has been recently put on Metoprolol. We are scared to death that this will affect the baby. She has called her cardiologist and gynecologist. They both said she and the baby would be fine. She is worried they are just telling her that for her safety and not the baby. So we are stuck on the route we should take.
What are the affects on an unborn baby taking Metoprolol?

You are a month 8. When you are ready to deliver/without this drug you could go into cardic failure. Delivery is very, very stressful. Talk to you Pharmacy and pick their brain too.
Now you might talk to the doctor and ask what would happen if you had early delivery now. Then get on the medication after that early delivery.
Or total bed rest during this last month. No going to the store no nothing. Have a nurse stop in and take your blood pressure.
