I take a lot of diffient drugs for my depression and I also suffer with IBS
Duphalac - Lactulose: The usual dose is 1 to 2 tablespoonfuls (15 to 30 mL, containing 10 g to 20 g of lactulose) daily. The dose may be increased to 60 mL daily if necessary. Twenty-four to 48 hours may be required to produce a normal bowel movement.
Note: Some patients have found that lactulose solution may be more acceptable when mixed with fruit juice, water or milk.
Since you take other meds it is highly recommended to talk to your doc./pharmacist before you take lactulose, hope this helps?
I have had troubles for about twenty years and have use many things. I started from scar adhesions from having my appendix out had surgery once and have been hospitalized about 4 times. They have restarted my upper bowel by putting a tube up my nose and pump my stomach and after a bit the bowel would start again. Not a fun thing to go through.
I have now found that Miralax works very well. You might want to give it a go.
Just a thought, thanks
