I currently take 4 80Mg OC 80's a day and 6 oxycodones 30Mg a day for breakthrough pain at times th OC's are like taking nothing I have been on oxycontin for nine yrs almost the same dose just smaller mg but way more pills i just heard about opana's but what would it take to compare to the 4 80's i now take.
I'm in the same boat as you, but I take 60 mg for breakthrough pain. I go to the doctors today & will be switching to Opana ER 40 mg & 20 mg for breakthrough. I've heard & read good things about it & can only pray that it's as good as it seems. I'll be letting you & others know the results tonight after I try it.
Last night I filed a compliant report with the FDA regarding what Purdue has done to Oxycontin. Not only how they ruined it, but Purdue to go back to the original formula.
I need information on this too. Up until 2 weeks ago I had been taking four 80mg Oxycontins-nothing for breakthrough. I asked my Pain Mgmt dr to take me off the Oxy and they prescribed EXALGO-which is supposed to be a 24 hr pill. Well it is NOT! Just last Wed they increased my dose to four 12mg Exalgos at one time-once a day. It is not keeping my pain level down, considering what a strond dose this is. Exalgo is Extended Release Hydromorphone-I want to switch to Opana 80mg twice a day and something for breakthrough. I want any comments on this and thanks!!! I have been on pain meds since 2004 after back surgery-DDD-Arthiritis-bone spurs-nerve damage etc-I do not get HIGH when I take these drugs all I want is some relief from the constant, severe pain I deal with everyday of my life...
