... He was a registered nurse and the bread winner-We have 4 children-yours, mine and ours-I feel like I am getting no where with our finances. Are there any organizations that you may know of that could help us here in Canandiagua, NY?
i am feeling for you! I really do understand. I was diagnosed a few years ago and well its been a very long road... not saying this to upset or scare you, but when i was first diagnosed i suppose i didnt quite understand everything. My job had to finally replace me and i was a receptionist. I know its been a year since you have asked but when i was first diagnosed, i tried to find as much work from home stuff that i could. I did apply for social security disability and did get approved. So if you have not done that yet i would do it asap. it took about a year and a lawyer to make it happen... but it the meantime i was able to get a simple job at a call center. My vision is ok and also my speech is ok. Its jut the damn ataxia isnt... but until i got approved for SSDI i went through the county and got healthcare for my daughter. They may provide you with some food stamp assistance and stuff like that. I also went to foodbanks. sucks but you do what you have to when you have lil ones to feed. In the area where i live there are some organizations that maybe an financially help. Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul are the ones around me. Well hopefully he is doing better! an if this reaches you and you need someone who actually understands well i am here.
