... to 2x a day
I take bupropion sr once a day. I used to take it twice a day quite successfully. This last year though, every time I raise my dose, I feel great for the first 4 or 5 days, then I start to have a problem with anxiety. So I would go back down to once a day. But, because of the time of year with winter months gloom, and holidays coming on, I sometimes have a bout of being down in the dumps. So this week I am going to try the twice a day dosing, at least for now. I was on the twice a day dose for years and always had great success with it in the past. I will let you know, in a couple of weeks after it has a chance to set in!
Question: If once a day dosing is working for you, is there a reason you want to try an increase in dosage? The only thing I would watch out for is a possible
temporary increase in anxiety until your body gets used to the increased dosage.
cjohn; As you can see the dose can vary as with many medications, It really depends on how long you have been on it and what you are feeling like to reach the peak benefit of Wellbutrin you need to be on it for 6 to 8 weeks, Many do well on 150mg and the SR is more a 12 hour pill so could be the doctor is planning on increasing yours. But everyone it works differently for so it really is between you and your doctor. Myself I am taking the 150mg SR Twice a day but most people would be taking 150 to 300mg xl which is more a 24 hour pill so as you can see it works different for different reason and the doctor and decide with you on if he or she may think you may benefit more from the higher the dose. Good luck to you. feel free to come back and let us know how you are doing.
