... before bedtime thus causing serious insomnia issues?
Hello SandraLHoutz. Insomnia is one of the top four most common of side effects to taking Wellbutrin XL/BupropionXL Up to 20% of users in clinical studies/trials reported insomnia as a major problem to taking Wellbutrin XL. Not certain why your physican perscribed you this drug (being perscribed for SAD as well as depression) in that you have posted several questions in regards to not being able to sleep. Regards, pledge
Tried answering your question under the original heading and the web page kept kicking me out. I can remember when I was 46, l-o-n-g time ago. Serax (oxazepam) is an older benzo, going back to 1960's. Roche Pharmaceutical came out with Librium, first benzo. That was around 1959. I recall that Roche (Hoffman La Roche actual name) was a Swiss or German company. About a year later they developed Valium. Serax is actually a metabolite of Valium. Serax seems to have good and bad properties. Is recommended for drug withdrawl and sleep latency problems. But has short half-life 4-15 hours. I don't like anything less than 12-18 hours, personally. Restoril (Temazepam) is better I think because of longer HL.
Know what you mean about knee problems. My knees are shot from just age. Decades of wear and tear. I am doing PT to hold off on surgery. I take Naproxen for 12-hour coverage and Motrin for breakthrough pain. Will see how long all that lasts, ha.
See if your doc will Rx Restoril. Start off w/ 15 mg capsule. Allow 2 hours for initiation of sleep. Use it sparingly, maybe every 4 or 5 days.
