Has anyone used any of these medication and how was your experience? I have suffered from depressionn and social anxiety with Mild OCD for over 10 years. I have tried therapy and various other things including meds like SSRI/SNRI. How well do these help? I was thinking of taking all 3 together. Im just looking for anyone who maybe has used any of these together or alone and how it went for you?
I have been on Remeron for PTSD and depression for over 8 years. It has been a life saver for me... It did take about 8 weeks to kick in fully, but, I would not change it for anything. My PTSD was due to an assault on my person and was very hard to get a grip on. Depression is a monster all on its on. However, the Remeron has helped me greatly in both of these areas. I also take Xanax for anxiety as it is in a class of its own. For my problems, Remeron has worked so well I wouldn't even think of changing it. Best wishes, ChelleKay
I was on abilify for depression and only felt a 20% increase in positive mood. I stopped it after a month after gaining 12 pounds. I switched to 150 mg of Wellbutrin and two weeks in, I'm having waves of anxiety and random panic attacks. I hope they work better for you. Best of luck.
I have suffered severe depression for 20 years. I've tried Paxil which helped a bit, then Prozac, Wellbutrin, Theta burst therapy, and finally now Remeron. I have also been taking Cipralex for rumination and anxiety. I have only been on Remeron for a few weeks and for the first time in years I feel alive and actually happy again! It is much like when I started Cipralex for worrying in that within a week I felt 1000 times better.
The only problem is I gained 10 lbs in that short amount of time. This is because it affects leptin levels. But I eat too much sugar anyway, so I should cut down on carbs.
My motivation is up. I feel more optimistic. I get things done. And I seem to prioritize better.
It's like someone flipped on the light switch. I think I developed an intolerance to Wellbutrin and, like the other meds, it just stopped working. It was getting really bad since I wouldn't even have the motivation to leave the house.
I take the Remeron at night because it causes extreme sleepiness for me if I take it in the day.
Of course, different meds affect different people and I've read some comments on here by people who took it and found it didn't help them. Just like Paxil and Prozac didn't help me.
But, I feel lucky and grateful I tried Remeron. Now I can start my life again. Perhaps you should try it for a few weeks and see if it helps you. I hope it does. Good luck!
I have only taken Remeron bc I had a major issue with sleep and it really worked. However, it packs the weight on. If you are thin, I would go for it. I got off of it and ended up on Lexapro. I know people who take Wellbutrin and really like it. I would stay away from ability unless absolutely necessary. It's a guessing game, unfortunately. Just have to try. Good Luck! I know it's hard.
