Anyway a couple years ago i fell on black ice and tore both my rotary cuffs off they were both fixed and then i fell down a flight of stairs and ripped them off again now the only way they can get fixed is if they cut into my bones and i will have limited use of my arms. i am in so much pain all the time. I cannot get shots as i am allergic to cortisones and with all my other problems which i could write a book about i could really use some suggestions on this. Begging for help
I am so very sad to read what happened to you and what you are going through... I wish I had the right answer.
I suggest you outweigh the pros vs. the cons and based on that make a decision with your Doctors.
I am sorry I can not be of more help... be strong, you are in my prayers.
Sorry to be so late in making your acquaintence! Im terribly sorry to hear about your situation. One thing you need to make sure of, is that you find an excellent orthopedic surgeon as well as a neurosurgeon. Let me explain my reasons for this. It is not quite your situation, but might give you some insight. In 2002, I began to lose strength and use of both my arms. No one could figure out what was going on. I went to my neurologist and he found that the discs in my neck were sitting on top of each other. He consulted an ortho doc, who stated it would be better handled by the neuro surgeon because of where this situation was: between C3 all the way to C7. If not handled properly, I would be paralyzed from the chest down. Fortunately, everything worked out perfectly and my hands are still moving well. Ask for a 2nd and 3rd opinion from orthopedic docs before you settle on the very first doctor's decision. See if they all come to the same conclusion and by all means, speak with a neurosurgeon as well. See if there is anything they can offer as well. Talk to the nurse before you make the appt and explain your situation. She will let you know if they can help you. Cant hurt! I wish you luck and will keep you in my prayers. God speed in finding your help, hon.
Hi my new friend,
I am so sorry about your circumstances with your shoulders!!
Can they be operated on one at a time? Would that help? Have a consult with your surgeon and find out.
Also, what other problems are you having? Are there meds you are on that are not agreeing with you? Are you depressed? Tell us what is going on leron, and maybe we can be of some help.
All the best to you,
Leron, you are describing my life & my husbands! My husband is having rotator cuff surgery on his left shoulder on the 20th of this month. He had the right one done 2 years ago. Being a stubborn man, he wouldn't wear the sling & keep his arm tied to his side like he was suppose. Thought he had to do everything so I wouldn't have to. The doctor told him if he didn't follow what he told him it would never be right. Well, here we go again. At least you have the option of more surgery. I know the pain you are going thru plus all your other conditions. I wish you the best in your decision. I would go for it. You will continue to have more nerve damage in your arms & hands if you don't. I wish you the best my friend & good luck...
next question as i am a beginner at this how do i help other people out. I work in the nurses aides field for years and volunteered at hospice for year so i am sure i have wisdom i just don't know where to begin. Please i need answers as you have helped me so much i want to give back and get my mind off myself Leron
