You will need blood tests to see how well Welchol is working, it might not have to be monthly - just whenever your doctor decides. It might be frequent when you start taking the medicine and then less frequently.
Welchol does not get absorbed so your liver and kidney function won't be affected so these won't need to be checked regularly.
