I got no liver damage yet or any sympthoms. My doctor only suggested a month since I was new to the medication and he wanted to see how it goes well roght now I'm doing great no symthoms like at all so will my doctor will know how many pills to recommend me now? I have also had my toenail fungus since around 5 or 8 years old can the medication take longer since i have had it my whole life time ? Although I do see some nails improving the free edge is more of a line still has some fungus but its more of a line now... So can it be gone for three months or do some people need more time?
The length of treatment varies and your doctor will review you at certain intervals, but since you can see the infection still there you will definitely need prescription for a bit longer. I am sure your doctor will do a liver function test when their protocol says it should be done and then continue with treatment.
The recommended length of treatment is:
Fingernail onychomycosis: One 250 mg tablet once daily for 6 weeks.
Toenail onychomycosis: One 250 mg tablet once daily for 12 weeks.
