and we are trying to find out her risks if someone can help us we thank you for your help and time
Methadone can be used for 2 reasons,1) for chronic pain and 2) to treat opiate addiction. Something isn't right here as methadone blocks all opiates especially weak ones like hydrocodone (vicodin, lortab, hydros). The problem is that he is risking respiratory failure taking all 3. Something doesn't mix here. Is there a chance that he is getting these drugs from different doctors. A methadone doctor would never order another opiates as they don't work but they can still cause an overdose. The soma is often abused and it looks like this may be happening here. I hope I'm wrong but I would say your friend has more than a pain problem... Dave
mvpt is right about the methodone blocking the other opiates. If she has a legal script for the methodone, the doctor wouldn't prescribe the other meds. I'm assuming she isn't getting them from the same doctor. If she is, the doctor is very uneducated regarding methodone and is causing her harm.Try to have a talk with her and see if she is willing to get some help. Good luck to you.
