I normally go to sleep about 5AM - took provigil 1 hr b4 work about 7pm - felt much better while at work on night shift but would like to sleep in early AM. taking 200mg 1x daily has anyone had similar results - would taking provigil at noon to 1pm still help me get thru the day and my work shift at night?
Was told to take provigil 1 hr b4 work but could not sleep after work?

I found that I had to take my medicine UP TO three hours before optimum wakefulness was achieved. When I read the literature about the Provigil, I believe this has something to do with how it is released in the body. HOWEVER, I do not recommend this as sometimes (for whatever reason) it worked more rapidly - before I was ready to be awake. Nevertheless, taking it earlier helped me stay awake for the required period and then sleep when needed. I do take a divided dose as my days are long, and that works perfectly for me. Of course, I have been on Provigil for over 7 years and have time to adjust and readjust what works.
