I'm kind of a freak about germs and viruses in general, but there's one thing in particular that I've been tormented by. I'm a bit OCD about this, but my brother has a massive wart on his hand and I'm so fearful I"m going to get it from him. I've read enough on the internet to freak me out and it's just so stupid. My question is, if a common wart touches item X (keys, couch, phone, etc.) can I then get a wart from touching the same item X? This sorta thing drives me crazy, my brother has come over to my house and obviously his wart has come into contact with many different things in my house and there's nothing I can really do about it, but I want to know if I can contract the wart virus just by touching the same random things in my house that I think he touched (this was about 3 weeks ago that he came over).
I think warts are pretty hard to spread and require quite some close/intimate contact. I used to know someone with warts on his hands who gave them to his (immediately) ex girlfriend on her genitals and one guy who spread his own warts to himself. I think things like this are rare.
Mitchel, Yes just as Stephen has said it is rare to spread ward like the ones on your hand etc but I can't say you can rule it out all to gather Your brother should have it looked at by a doctor and find out what time it is. or even have it removed but truly these types are very rare to catch from when they are of the hand or body like are and such. The ones you're thinking more of that are able to spread would be in a different area that you would not be touching with your brother. But the smart thing to do is have him get in and see a doctor and have this taken care of. Or at the very least go to a pharmacy and get something to use on it that will slowly burn it off layer by layer. I REALLY DO NOT THINK YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT OR YOU WOULD SEE A LOT MORE ON HIM. cHUCK1957
