Hello! I got my first depo shot on Thursday, and it was a day after my period ended which means I have to wait for seven days in order for it to activate. I am on the placebo pills in this pack of my bc pills, and the placebos end on Sunday. So basically, I have 3 days where I will not have any protection in my system (Monday to Thursday since the placebo stops on Sunday). Then on Thursday the depo will activate. I had sex and the condom broke on Friday night (a day after depo) and took plan B on Saturday (today). Should I still be worried that I can get pregnant since I will not be covered those few days or is the plan b going to stay in my system for that long? Should I start taking the pills again on Monday to Thursday?? Help!
You will not be covered by the Plan B for any unprotected sex after you have taken it. The Manufacturer states that no further incidents of unprotected sex will be covered by Plan B.
You can just use condoms for those few days, until the Depo becomes effective.
A tip - When the condom is about to be put on his penis, hold the tip. This prevents air getting trapped inside the condom, as you roll it down. If air gets trapped inside, it may lead to the condom bursting during intercourse.
Always hold the base of the condom on the penis as he withdraws. This prevents it accidentally slipping off inside of you.
