I have just started taking the contraceptive pill, Brenda -35 ED. I started it on the first day of my period in the red section of the pack. The first 3 pills were the sugar pills and took them. Today is my first day taking the active pill. The leaflet said that I need to use another form of contraceptive for 14 days after starting the pill. Is this 14 days from starting the sugar pills or 14 days from starting the active pills? If the leaflet says 14 days from when I began taking the pill it should be from the first day yes meaning the sugar pills? I'm also confused because I've read elsewhere that you need to take the pill for 7 consecutive days to be protected from pregnancy not 14. Which is correct?
Do I need to wait 7 or 14 days after starting the pill to have unprotected sex?

I can not find any info on this particular pill and we don't use it. However, you don't start with your sugar pills, ever. You need to count from the day you take the first active pill. I would appreciate if you can tell me what it says about how to start them so I can help you better.
