... cell cancer and has had one kidney removed that was pretty overtaken. He has been on Votrient for 6 weeks and is having a rough time with the side effects. Wondering if it has worked for others
I have no personal experience, but here's a link to people who have:
My husband had pancreatic cancer which is supposed to be fatal. His life insurance paid about 2/3 of his policy because his oncologist signed papers that he was expected to die within 6-12 months. That was 3 years ago. He's been cancer free for almost 2 years. You just never know.
My husband had his kidney removed as well. By the time we knew about the cancer it had spread to his lung. He has been on votrient for about seven weeks. His lung capacity has improved (on his incentive spirometer, the breathing exerciser they gave him after surgery) and he now has breath sounds in his lung again, not perfect but they are there and improving gradually. His energy is slowly improving as well
hang in there
He is taking anti nausea medication which helps some and he actually eats more homemade food now because everything was tasting too salty
I have had stage 4 renal carcinoma resulting in right kidney being removed along with large tumor. Cancer had metastasized into both lungs with multiple tumors. I started Votrient 7months ago and the most recent ct scan showed a 70% reduction in tumor size in both lungs. I am still battling with the side effects of nausea and diarrhea.
