I'm only on my third day of this med after being taken off 90mg of cymbalta. I take 10mg every morning when i get up. I am so dizzy that i can barely function. I drove yesterday and had to close one eye when I turned a corner. I commute to work and have a job that requires a lot of concentration and thought. How long is this going to last?
Good morning Country Girl, You are experiencing the side effects of the medicine. It does cause lightheadedness confusion dizziness feelings is spinning and blurry vision and more. Since you've only been on it a few days it'll take a little longer to get used to it. Anywhere from 2-4 weeks. If your symptoms from the vortioextine become unbearable contact your doctor. Maybe you need a lower dose or a different medication. Is there anyway you can take the medicine when you get off work or at bedtime?
Morning Country girl marce; this is what is said about the drug when you first start it.(((((Several weeks may pass before your symptoms improve. Do NOT take more than the recommended dose, change your dose, or take vortioxetine for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.)))))) Also let the doctor know about any other over the counter medications and natural remedies or meds. Many interact with this medication. Try and hang in there you have to put up with some side effects that go away after you have been on it a few weeks. Have a good day CHUCK1957
Thanks. I've spoken to my pharmacist who told me it was ok to take it in the evenings. So here's hoping i can sleep off the worst of the dizziness!
