I need to have a filling and/or root canal done. Will any anesthesia or anything the dentist administers negatively interact with mononessa (birth control)?
The only thing that may interfere with contraception is if they give you antibiotics. If they give you any antibiotics either during the procedure or to take afterwards, use back up condoms while you are taking the antibiotic and for seven days after you finish. If they only give you antibiotics during the procedure only, you will just need to use back up condoms for seven days. Be sure that you let them know that you take birth control pills though. They should always be listed on your list of medications
