I am considering trying to have another baby. My psychiatrist & my ob/gyn have both advised me that Viibryd is safe during pregnancy. My concern is the nasty side effects/withdrawal symptoms I experience when I miss a dose. Severe itching, dizziness, nausea, extreme irritability. I don't want my baby to go through this in its first days of life. I'm not sure what to do because I know quitting the Viibryd will be its own special kind of hell.
On This site, Drugs.com, Viibryd is listed as category C, which means that this drug should be used only if no other medication is effective for depression.
I would recommend asking your Psychiatrist and OB doctors again about the risks listed on this site.

You have had an MD reply and it doesn't get any better on our site as far as safety. Your question is of the utmost importance. As a Viibryd user and knowing how unique it is, I would NOT recommend you risk it with your baby unless there is no alternative antidepressant. I'm sure there is one! I've overcome the side effects and I'm a fan but I'd hate to see you and your baby! have a bad experience. Will you please check back in and let us know??
