Hi, there. About 10 years ago, I had a "breakdown" of sorts with severe anxiety/OCD. My dr. put me on 20mg of Lexapro and it worked like a charm for many, many years. I decided to wean myself off of it because I was trying to have a baby. It did not go well. My anxiety/OCD came back and I went back on the Lex. Only gave it about 2 weeks and was so desperate for relief that I decided to give Viibryd a try at my dr.'s recommendation. I am now on 40mg of Viibryd for about two months and am still struggling with anxiety/OCD. Wondering if I should switch back to the Lex, which helped me so much before. Just not sure if 20mg of Lex would be as potent as the 40mg of Viibryd I am on now. Any advice?
The max recommended dose for Lexapro is 20mgs. So you were at the recommended highest dose. The recommeded dose for Viibryd is 40mgs and by the way, must be taken with food. Kinda hard to compare potency of two different drugs. They may both be fruit, but one is an apple, the other a banana.
