My doctor recently upped my fentynal from 62mg to 75mg and for some reason the larger patches don't stick as well as the smaller ones. I read the advice about using tegaderm patches to keep them in place but I have some c-view patches and wondered if I'm ok to use them until I can get out to buy some tegaderm. Thank you
Sorry that this is so late but it is almost always worth repeating. Yes, the tegadirm film will keep the patch in place but once it loses that close adhesive - skin bond it really just isn't going to work well (in my extensive experience).
When you shower or before you replace your patch; do not use moisturizing soaps or moisturizing bodywash. Use a clean dry towel that is all crispy rather than one that has been exposed to fabric softeners, dip one corner of the crunchy towel under a hot tap and then give the application area a scrub with the towel and then dry it off firmly with another corner of the towel. REPEAT once and place the patch in place and hold it with firm warm pressure from your hand for thirty seconds after making sure the preliminary bond is okay. If you live in a humid area, total dryness can be hard to achieve except by standing next to an air conditioner to reduce humidity and keep your skin dry.
