After 1 year of stresses in my life, 5+ yrs going through menopause, overweight my entire life, and now pre-diabetic, I have come to the point where I am NOT able to control my weight under 200 lbs. I am now 70 lbs overweight and my body fat is primarily around my middle, the most dangerous place. Has Victoza been known to target this area, considering this is where the last 30lbs that I gained in the past year has come on? I had always been able to control under 200 lbs. I am 56 yrs. old. and 5'7"
As we age we have metabolism changes. Once through menopause it takes work to keep the weight down. We also naturally gain about 10 pounds per decade if we don't change our diet. That said, it is not the pill but your constant battle with weight. You know what to do, healthy food choices, increase exercise, use a diabetic diet, stop buying junk food, etc. With all you are experiencing, I do hope this is your wake up call. Sure a medication can increase appetite. Or increase water retention. But what we eat is the key. We do better with a challenge, so perhaps a friend, family member can help you stay motivated. You can do this. You will be happier and have so much more energy. Just like the commercials on TV, you are entering the stage of life where obligations change and lots left to enjoy. Go for it. You will have one lovely figure by the time you are done and a whole new attitude about life. I think you can take charge. Be well, Karen
