Added 31 Aug 2014:
have been taking Victoza every morning for about 11 months at the 1.2 mg level. I experienced infrequent painful bowel movements from the first and this has grown worse and worse until this week on Wednesday I had a badly impacted bowel that required medical intervention. I stopped taking Victoza the next day and my bowels have returned to regularity for the first time since I started using the drug. I have also experienced ringing in my ears, dizziness, joint pain, numbness and tingling in my feet and lower legs and lethargy uncommon for me. My doctor says it could be diabetic neuropathy and I have an appointment with a podiatrist next week. My cardiologist says he thinks it is from stenosis of the spine. Could these symptoms result from Victoza. I will advize if other changes occurr since stopping the drug.
Victoza can have side effects. However, you may well have other conditions that are being uncovered. See what the tests provide for answers. I use insulin and do well on it. They have easy injection pens that you can carry anywhere. Unless your diet now controls your levels, mine has, then be sure you include a visit with the endocrinologist. There are other solutions. I happen to be allergic to metformin.
I saw your post and was wondering if you found a relation between Victoza and the numb or tingly feeling? I have taken Victoza for about 6 weeks. Two weeks at .6 and four weeks at 1.2
This week I upped the dose to 1.8, per my Dr's orders.
I began to feel sick, stomach wise, about 2 days after the 1st dose of 1.8 The most concerning reaction was that I began to feel as if my BS was low. That's the best way to describe it. I already had an appointment with my primary Dr . scheduled. He had me stop the Victoza.
It's been 2 days since I've been if of Victoza and my stomach issues have resolved. However, I continue to have a tingly numb antsy feeling in my legs and feet. It's diving my crazy.
Above else had this type of reaction?
