I been addicted to Vicodins and Percoset for 1 year now.. Its been fun but I am ready to stop, now doing damage to liver... Getting ready to go to detox/reab its going to be tuff for me.
Has anyone here been treated for vicodin addiction and was it hard to quit... What are the symptoms?
If you're going to an inpatient detox it's probably four days or so and they will use suboxone for the w/d. If that's what happens let me know when you are discharged. We can help you either way when you get out.
If you are going into a detox you are doing the right thing. If you were to look at several posts I have left about addiction i always state a detox /in house program. But you need to keep upfront this doesnt stop with a detox. While you are there they will have you go to some counseling and even some meetings ( group meeting ). they will most likely offer you a counselor and you will meet with that person to discuss after care. they may recommend another program. Like a 90 day in house program to help you get back on track , where it can provide more tools for you to live a " recovering addict". No matter what you chose you have to chose it 100%. Addiction finds a way to sneak back in even if you are only 99% committed. I also recommend NA meeting every day for 1 year. AA will also work and you will find several drug addicts also attend AA as a drug is a drug no matter what the preference.
Dont be ashamed or afraid, there are many people out there who will help you if you want the help. Let us know how you are doing, your friends here are also here for you. Take care... Snakey
Look around for a good program. I heard that there is a program in the Malibu area that is there not for you, but to suck every bit of money out of you. There are some in the hills of Utah that are the same way. But there are tons that are very good programs out there and they will work with you.Just ask people around you for a great one.
I am so happy for you wanting off of the drugs. Suboxone is a great drug for what you want. But like it has been said, when out of the program go to AA or anything that can give you some support and structure so you will not want to go back to where you started.
Best Wishes to a Successful Outcome !!
