anyone else suffering with this addiction? Knee surgery went bad, and docs kept me on vicodin indefinitely!
Boy,I sure am! It's the pits, isn't it? I've been taking sister drug "Norco" for almost that amount of time, and it sure can get out of hand. I too, am on it indefinitely. I get torn between wanting to stop and then having so much pain, wanting to continue. I have several different things, and I am currently taking about 4 a day, but find myself taking a few more in the course of the day, depending how bad the pain is, and much as I hate to admit it, how much I emotionally want to take them. I am cutting back from 12 or more a day (8 or 9 at once) and I really hate this! Are you taking many at once, or just throughout the day? How many a day? If you don't take a lot through the day, how are you managing? Sometimes I'm good and sometimes I'm not. It sure can screw you up emotionally, can't it? Not to mention the tolerance level, making it even harder not to take more. After a while they don't work, so I kept upping how many I took. I've been walking around, with constant bell ringing in my ears as a result, not to mention a few other "side effects". At times, I am a zombie, but the pain is better, so what do you do? Damned if you don't, damned if you do!
