i was prescribed hydrocodone apap 10-660 i took 7.5 750 miligrams before this, are they stronger cuz i do not notice any difference, and i asked my Dr. for something stronger for the back pain and this is what he prescribed.
Going from 7.5 to 10mg is not that much of an increase. Especially for hydrocodone. But the amount of APAP is way too high! If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been on these meds? The only reason I ask is if it's for chronic pain, you need to see a new doctor! I'm hoping it's for acute pain and you fell better soon. Good luck to you.
The first number is all that matters when dealing with pills with hundreds of mgs of APAP. 7.5 to 10 is only a 25% increase.
Im going to be honest with you, i think vicodin are useless to people that have been on stronger painkillers. I dont get any relief from vics anymore, i recently get a sript for them after getting out of the hospital and (im not proud of this) i took 5 or 6 when i got home and no pain relief. My back hurt so bad i couldnt walk. I know this is odd, since its considered a weaker drug, but i have a HUGE opioid tolerance and tramadol gave me realief. I think it may be because there isnt much of a cross tolerance between tramadol and other opioids? i dunno but maybe look into that
I think Vicodin are dangerous for people to take long term cause the Tylenol in the vicodin will rot your liver. I was on vicodins for 10yrs and I thank God everyday for my PC doctor/ He took me off everything with tylenol in it. I am on morphine now but I had to work up to be able to take this strong of a drug. Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you.
