It cleared up his ear infection almost overnight. He gets EAR infections easy. Do you like this drug for ear infections?
Hi, Pug! SMZ-TMP (Brand name: Bactrim) can be an excellent antibiotic combination for many simple ear infections that are susceptible to these drugs. You should avoid giving it too frequently and give it for at least 7 days when you do to avoid the bacteria becoming resistant. If you find it stops working you'll need your veterinarian to do a culture and sensitivity to find a more appropriate antibiotic.
Best wishes, WildcatVet
Yes, Pug; it was not that many of years ago when one of my children with chronic ear infections was finally put on this for a month as precaution and she has not had problems with her monthly ear infections since. Glad it is working for you Pug. Chuck1957 Remember what wildcatvet said about the right use for your pug.
