... doctor Monday and asking her to wean me off of this med. I didn't want to start it in the first place! I'm having alot of anxiety about this along with the brintellix and modafinil I take. These meds have probably changed my brain chemistry for the worse forever. I've been on various meds like these for the past 20 years. I never should have started
You don't have to ween off Latuda, well I've a month without taking it because I couldn't assure enough sleep time, work school so I was doing anywhere from 2-4 hours a night, so I just quit taking it. I take armodafinil for my breaks from ADHD meds, and just saw that says on the Latuda Overview page that Armodafinil and Modafinil will affect the Latuda and should be avoided. What did you do to the doc that simply refusing a medication is bad? Also, what did you do or say that made the doc write a prescription for Latuda? Why did you fill it if you didn't want to start in the first place?
If you suffer from major depression you need the meds. The problem is, for all of us, that finding the right combination is a crap shot. I too have been on a lot of things in the last 20 years. Changing meds is almost as tough as having the disease.
I am on Brintellix now. It seems far more subtle that the things I have used before. I didn't even notice it improving things until I realized I was not depressed. It has the same first week start up issues as all SSRIs. Without getting scientific, it is the first to work on this many serotonins. It is costly as hell, but I like it better than anything I have tried. No, I don't know if I will like it in a year, but these last few months (since March) have been pretty good.
Hang in there and talk to us here. We will support you anyway we can. Without speaking for anyone else directly, we have some pretty sick people here with great experience at getting well.
