I've had severe back pain low back for 15 plus years. It has controlled my life and made my life unbearable. I've recently been put on venlafaxine 37.5 mg once a day. If this drug works for depression, anxiety, etc just how will it work for my back and nerve pain? Thanks for any feedback.
Antidepressants help correct imbalances of the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. These same neurotransmitters whose imbalances can cause depression and anxiety psychologically have also been implicated in chronic pain and various neuropathies.
Good luck to you. Many people have reported moderate to good pain relief with the antidepressants. Wildcat
