... poured onto a soft food like pudding or ice cream to swallow? Is there a liquid form or a form of tablet that she can crush to swallow easier?
I would not recommend it. Ask the Dr for safer alternatives.
Are they xr? You can't alter them in any way. Have you tried putting the capsule In applesauce or pudding and giving it to her on a spoon? If its not xr, they come in tablets too. Those wouldn't matter. How old is she? She needs to learn to swallow pills. She's going to have to do it thru out her life.
I had the same problem swallowing pills my entire early adult life. One day I just convinced myself to do it and I did it. Was in my 30's before I did! Now I swallow a handful of supplements at a time. I can't even remember what the problem was. I know it is difficult, but start with swallowing with food in the beginning and then a small piece of bread until she can do it without help. Keep trying and eventually she will get over the fear. Just relax and do your best. If I can do it anyone can! Stay strong!
