Can someone please help me I've been taking venlafaxine for nearly 5 weeks I've tolerated the side effects quite well I've been on 150mg for 2 days I was ok on 75mg but I read that this amount won't help with the neuro hormone only the serotonin so I'm currently taking 150mg
Anyway my doctor wants me to take one 75mg in the morning and one 12 hours later then she wants to put me on the slow release type next week.
I'm scared now because if I do that I'm sure I won't be able to sleep and if I take the slow release will it mess me up it's all confusing me and I'm really scared I don't want to go backwards my depression has lifted although I feel quite panicky most of the time I never had this before this med.
Should I not just ask for the 150 slow release now is it the same ingredients please help me
Please help me. I am on venlafaxine.

Hi. It sounds like the first thing you need to do is relax. Everything will be okay. Talk with your doctor about your fears. Are you seeing a therapist? Try not to worry about the sleep thing. You do not know yet that you will not be able to sleep if you change your medication. Take things one day at a time. You can always go back to a lower dose or try a different medication. Just do not stop this drug all of a sudden. That will almost certainly give you bad effects.
aribanhorselover has it right Sanchez01. When we get this stressed out just thinking of the medications you need to talk to the doctor again. As far as the dose I think you posted before but ask the doctor about taking the timed release all in the morning. Make sure you get the dose the doctor wants and please if you're still confused come in and talk to someone but have you timed release and fast release very clear. Most don't need that one when you get stabilized on the Sr. But let's first get on just the 75mg in the morning and see how you do than worry about the increase.
