... nasal drip which actually prevents me from sleeping or lying down. It is triggered by everything from weather or barometric changes to the usual seasonal allergens. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've tried all of the usual treatments, sprays, etc
Try Elderberry 500 mg. capsules (you can get them at GNC). Dose is 1-2/day. I take it during the day and often before bed and it does work well - it's a known natural decongestant (so no side effects like pseudofed, etc.). It doesn't last as long but still lasts some hours. It doesn't get rid of all congestion but greatly clears it up. Nettle can work too but I found that gives me an upset stomach, but each to their own. The one thing I've learned is that whlie antihistamines can work w/ decongestants, vasomotor rhinitis is not a histamine problem because it's not an allergic condition. Decongestants work best, and some people benefit from prescribed anticholinergics or other medications, though I prefer herbs (just always read up on the known safety of herbs). I also find the Breath Rite w/ menthol strips work well at night.
