My doctor prescribed me 10mg valium suppository for a medical condition and .25mg xanax for my anxiety. That is a low dose for me, I was taking .5 but after not taking for 2 years I started back up with .25. So he told me they were ok to take together. I drank a glass of wine with dinner, and took my xanax an hour later. Is it still ok to take the valium suppository? I am in severe pain but don't want to black out or anything, I've just been reading some horror stories about that. I also an on Nucynta 50mg twice a day which I already took (last pill 7 hours ago).
I'm sure you will be ok to take the suppository as long as it was just a glass of wine. Generally not a good idea to drink while taking benzodiazepines like Valium and Xanax though.
first of all I have no right to make a judgemet here, I have had lots of pain problems and have experienced Polio and a bllod disorder which predisposed me to aquiring Polio early, usually you don't find children my age contracting Polio, I was one week shy of getting the iccoculation, lived in a ruual area and so in ways I can tell you what I have been taught through years of experience but I can't be telling you what is right or wrong for you, we are all unique and what would likely cause lethal experiences to a lot of people to some who have followed the rules their bodies have adjusted to doses that would causwe people who are unfamiliar with your case history to say this is not appropriate so I can't and won't do that! as you probably know Valium (Diazepam) and Xanax (aprazolam) are drugs that are very much alike and have many of the same side effects in fact they can in individials cause very serious side effects. Your Dr. and your pharmacist know you and you should develop a excelent rapport with your pharmacist, He may well be the one that some night when your physician is not on call and that you just don't want to go to the ER and the more he knows he will work hard to help you a good pharmacist can be worth their weight in Gold, I am not saying your physician isn't less I am just saying I am Oh so fortunate to have a pharmacist who I consider one of my best friends, it makes a good Dr. feel that much better when they are forced to used combination of pharmaceuticals they know that if you have the going for you then its so much safer, I am concerned about the wine but my parents both had brothers and sisters who were alcholic and any time aNY ONE MENTIONS ABOUT USING ANY FORM OF ALCOHOL I get very uncomfortable I say that to let you know that from all te discussions we here these days that children who have had a family history of alcohlisim they can be predisposed to problems, neither one of my parents would drink at all soley because of that reason and I was brought up to be discouraged about drinking any shape form or fashion, I am in my late 50's and have never ever touched a drop, I was actually afraid if something like that should happen along with my pain history and Polio it scared me until I just abstained, I dont say to others you are wrong for doing this I simply say nothing unless I am forced to discuss the subject. I am not sure I have been of any help to you at all but whatever I want you to be safe, take everything just as it is prescribed and if you don't have that pharmacist who you feel you can confide in then make that one of your priorities, It will be one of the best moves that you can ever make and please know that I want only the very best for you, It is my intention that you be the best that you can be, that you are as safe as it is possible! Please take good care and if you don't find the answers keep looking my mission is to say only those things that help and are of encouragement to you! Please take only the best of are!!
