What happens if I don't wait 7 days after i complete my yeast infection treatment to have sex? I can't seem to find an explaination as to why one has to wait that long.
I've had many yeast infections. I have not found sex to interfere with my treatment. I do keep the amount of sex at a minimum. I would have sex before putting in the yeast medicine at bedtime. I think it's helpful to have some time, maybe an hour or two, upright so that the deposits from sexual activity have time to exit your body. Wear a light pad if needed. Some fluids from sex will remain inside you. That's unavoidable. Your yeast medicine should be put in while laying down for bedtime and you stay in that position as you go to sleep.
If this doesn't allow you to get rid of the infection, you should probably avoid sex during treatment.
