I'm 49 and recently had blood work(BMP). My kidney level was at 48. It should be 60 and above. I am very concerned
Can usage of Atenolol/Chlorthalidone 50/25 cause a decrease in kidney function?

Yes, this has got me puzzled, too. My doc did lab work on me about 2 months ago and noticed that my kidney function level was at 58.6 then. Just last Thursday when lab work was done again, my levels dropped to 48. There is no history of kidney problems in my family. My guess is maybe the Chlorthalidone part of what I am on is overworking my kidneys. I keep hydrated and have greatly decreased salt intake. My BP levels are great.
