I stayed awake, they only numbed the area. I was unaware that there aren't any pain receptors inside of the liver. But it's a terribly awkward feeling, that is not wonderful. I have a higher pain tolerance than some, so with that said, it was a quick (15 minute), tolerable procedure. You will feel uncomfortable and it won't be painless because the needle has to get through to the liver. But it's not the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Breaking my ankle was much worse.
I stayed awake when they did my biopsy it was quick an easy. The guy that was doing it put a little extra numbing stuff down the needle right before he broke through the liver capsule what a weird sound but it was quick an easy.your stomach feels a little weird at first when it starts to in numb .It was real easy
